The magic of thinking big main points
The magic of thinking big gives you several starting points to develop and strengthen the most important trait of successful people: believing in your self. favourite quote from the author: the first thing you need to know about"The Magic Of Thinking Big" is that it was written by" David loseph Schwarts."
The first thing you need to know about The Magic of Thinking Big is that it was written in 1959. The author, David Joseph Schwartz, was born in 1927 and died in 1987. That’s why this book does not quote countless studies or the latest scientific research. This doesn’t harm its message at all though.
No matter whether your life goals are incredibly big and daunting or fairly small and achievable, chance are you’ve thought “Where do I even begin?” more than once.
The author suggests you start by creating a mindset in which you feel 100% capable of achieving whatever you set out to do
In a nutshell: “Success is determined not so much by the size of one’s brain as by the size of one’s thinking.” – David J. Schwartz
1.BELIEVE YOU CAN SUCCEED AND YOU WILL
Success means different things to different people, yet they’re all good, wonderful, and positive things. “Every human being wants success. Everybody wants the best this life can deliver. Nobody enjoys crawling, living in mediocrity. No one likes feeling second-class and feeling forced to go that way.”
Schwartz goes back to the old adage that says that faith can move mountains. “Believe, really believe, you can move a mountain, and you can.” Not many people believe in themselves and in their grand goals, and thus, not many are able to move their mountains.
The author is quick to point out that some people will think, “It’s nonsense to think you can make a mountain move away by just saying ‘Mountain, move away.’ It’s simply impossible.’ People who think this way have belief confused with wishful thinking. And true enough, you can’t wish away a mountain. You can’t wish yourself into an executive suite. Nor can you wish yourself into a five-bedroom, three-bath house or the high-income brackets. You can’t wish yourself into a position of leadership.”
But, Schwartz says, “You can move a mountain with belief. You can win success by believing you can succeed. There is nothing magical or mystical about the power of belief.”
The belief—the deeply entrenched belief—that Schwartz is talking about is the “I’m-positive-I-can attitude [that] generates the power, skill and energy needed to do. When you believe I-can-do-it, the how-to-do-it develops.”
Let’s remember the quote by Goethe that says, “Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative and creation, there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.” That act of definitive committing is nothing but the belief that we can do it. And we’ve all experienced—in major or minor ways—how providence moves with the opportunities, coincidences, chance encounters, ideas and the myriad resources that present themselves to help us forge a path towards achieving our goals once we’re fully committed.
“Belief in great results is the driving force, the power behind all great books, plays, scientific discoveries. Belief in success is behind every successful business, church, and political organization. Belief in success is the one basic, absolutely essential ingredient of successful people. Believe, really believe, you can succeed, and you will.”
Stay tuned: tomorrow’s Part 2 will share three steps to develop the power of belief.
ACTION
TODAY: Think of a few times in the past when you’ve fully committed to something (big or small) and made it happen. Do you remember the deeply-entrenched belief you had in yourself to complete your goal? There was zero hesitation as to whether you’d complete it — it was a given that you would. That is what we’re aiming for here. If that belief is not readily available to you now, take a walk down memory lane and dig it up, it’s inside you, believe me. Keep that memory handy, as you will revert back to it when you need to evoke this feeling.
2.CURE YOURSELF OF EXCUSITIS,THE FAILURE DISEASE
Success is determined not so much by the size of one’s brain as it is by the size of one’s thinking.
Case history after case history proved that the size of bank accounts, the size of happiness accounts, and the size of one’s general satisfaction account is dependent on the size of one’s thinking. There is magic in thinking big.
Think Big and you’ll live big. You’ll live big in happiness. You’ll live big in accomplishment. Big in income. Big in friends. Big in respect... Start now, right now, to discover how to make your thinking make magic for you. Start out with this thought of the great philosopher Disraeli: ‘Life is too short to be little."
Think BIG to live BIG.
David Schwartz tells us that we need to upgrade our thinking in order to upgrade our life. Before we can achieve BIG things, we have to think BIG things.
In his eyes success has very little to do with intelligence, having rich parents, being lucky, or whatever. He claims that SUCCESS is determined not so much by the size of one’s brain as it is by the size of one’s thinking.
He offers countless strategies to help us UPGRADE our thinking and become more successful in everything we do.
“Ninety-nine percent of the failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.”
George Washington Carver
“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances.
The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can’t find them, make them.”
George Bernard Shaw
BUILD CONFIDENCE AND DESTROY FEAR
The Magic Of Thinking Big
It’s one thing to say that if you want to overcome from your fears, but it’s another thing to actually do it. Fear is real. When I was asked to appear on dance competition, I was very frightened from that. I was so afraid off that what might happen, I gave chanced to myself by thinking big, remember one thing that whenever you feel that your ideas are not enough or people are trying to put you down or you are getting fired then, at that situation you must have courage to think outside the box which means that this not the end; however I would come up with many chances in my life to get over from this fear.
Do Not Let Yourself Down From Failures
Analyze yourself where you have done mistakes try to come up with solution and do not forget to right down your positive ways and the things you are right, thus this will help you to boost yourself at the time when you would be feeling low or upset . It is right to dwell on the things tin which you were wrong. There are many rare people you will find who focus on their strengths and weaknesses, believe me by doing this you are preparing yourself for your future, and so in this way you are trying to focus on the things that you did right in order to emphasize them in future presentations.
Act Confidently
There is good saying that “fake it ‘til you make it”. This means that showing faking confidence has really worked in the real thing; there would be many situations you would come across in which you are not sure what to do in that situation, act confident automatically you will feel confident.
Positive Attitude
Do you know that when you think positive every time then you get surrounded by the aura. When one is secured or is being wrapped in warm then it is sure that he will do well and he will be able to do with all his capabilities. In that positive world he is able to stop spending emotional energy protecting him from the possible hurts of failure.
Forecast Success
Visualizing success would encourage you to visualize success and this is a powerful of self- motivation but it requires more self-discipline than you’ve been able to muster.try to focus on the positive outcomes that will bring you success.
Nobody Is Perfect
This is a huge problem which everybody start thinking on it over and over that we need to be perfect if in some journey of our life we become perfect then we would like to see at on our best, but it does not work at all, this will just sap your confidence, there is nobody in the human earth to whom we can say is perfect, every human body tries to get perfect Up to now and thus this is the peccadillo of life.? I do not think so..! The mantra is – Do your best and let go.
No Comparing
When we start comparing us to other then the time comes that we start judging us with others .every personality is individual and thus comparing does not help you to boost your confidence.
Move Forward With Head Up
Never think that what happens to you it is all happening because he behavior but yes because people around you is allowing themselves to see you in a different way. In other words, you should not define yourself by what happens to you. Neither in the way how other sees you. You are that- what you choose to be as a person – as a character. DIGNITY WIH SELF- CONFIDENCE.
Brazen Out From Fears
You should make you know that there is no situation in the world that can make you to lose your self- confidence or it is just your fear it is obvious that everyone feel fear at times and we are humans so this is obvious to get in to that situation. ; You should try to face the circumstances with your strengths, courage and also with self confidence; try to put yourself to that where you feel fear. We would suggest you not sit at home and fret.
A Little Pep Talk
We all know that we all have our down moments in our life, whenever we come across to those moments, try to restore your self- confidence. Practice it; believe me one day you would see that you have overcome from that situation.
Self-Confidence unconditionally, plays an important role in attaining success. But be sure not to turn your self- Confidence in over Confidence. Just as self- confidence helps you to gaining success, overconfidence will lead you toward unsuccessful.
HOW TO THINK BIG
Part1
Using Your Imagination
-
1Schedule thinking time. When you’re ready to consider new projects or new approaches to current goals, set aside some time – 90 minutes, two hours, whatever you can spare – and use the entire time for thinking.[1]
- Using the whole time to think helps you come up with approaches and strategies you might not have thought of before, because we tend to come up with one or two good ideas and think “that’s it! I’m ready!” Forcing yourself to think longer helps you go places your brain wouldn’t ordinarily go.
- Try to do your thinking in different settings. For example, you could go for a walk or visit a new coffee shop. Being in a different setting may help your brain to identify different possibilities than you would in your usual environment.
-
2Entertain the impossible. It's easy to think “small” in your life, because it's easy to feel obligated to be practical or realistic about your dreams or goals. Thinking big requires you to move beyond thinking realistically and toward what might seem improbable or even impossible. [2]
- For example, say you like to write. A realistic way of thinking about that might be to say that you want to write something every day. That’s a realistic goal and a realistic way of thinking about your love of writing.
- Entertaining the impossible means taking what you normally think you can do with your writing even further. Imagine what it would be like to see your book on a shelf at your favorite bookstore – maybe even in a fancy display. Imagine seeing your name and your book’s title at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list. This is the easiest way to think big.
- You can also do this by creating a vision board. Get a piece of poster board and use pictures and words from a magazine to represent your goals. Then, place the board somewhere you will see it often to help remind you of your goals.
-
3Step outside your comfort zone. Thinking big means thinking in ways that are beyond what you normally do, so naturally you’ll have to step outside of your comfort zone. While you’re thinking about new projects or approaches, let yourself feel a little uncomfortable. If you’re not a little scared of what you’re coming up with, you’re not thinking big enough.[3]
- For example, if you have a speech project for school, but want to think big about it, consider giving a style of speech you’re not usually comfortable with. Instead of reading directly from your paper, work from just a few bullet points and make it sound less formal. You could consider adding music or visuals to increase interest in your speech.
Part2
Setting Goals
-
1Set attainable goals. Thinking big shouldn’t also mean fantasizing about the impossible. It’s tempting to set a wildly ambitious goal to try to inspire yourself to achieve something bigger, but doing so can be setting yourself up for failure.[4]
- For example, if you’re thinking big about the kind of house you want to be able to afford one day, think bigger than you normally would – maybe $25,000 to $50,000 more, or a couple hundred thousand. But don’t think so big that your plan is to be able to afford a home worth millions and millions of dollars. If one day you can, that’s great, but setting more attainable goals helps to prevent you from being disappointed and helps you feel good about what you can accomplish.
-
2Break up your goal in steps. When you’re putting your big dreams into practice, recognize that although your end goal is big – giving a speech, buying a house, publishing a bestselling book – you have to take multiple, smaller steps to get there. The best way to achieve a big goal is therefore to break it up into smaller, more doable steps. Once you have your goal in mind, sit down and make a list of everything that you need to do for that goal to become a reality. This helps you to see it as more achievable and less overwhelming.[5]
- For example, if your end goal is to write a best-selling book, an example of starting small might be researching the topics or genres that are becoming more popular (you don’t want to focus on stuff that’s popular now, because chances are things will change before your book is finished).
- If you’re writing a speech, starting small might just mean making a list of things you want to give a speech about.
- Once you have your goal broken down into steps, rearrange them in the order that you need to accomplish them.
-
3Set deadlines for your goals. Once you’ve established what your big goals are, you’ll need to set deadlines for them. This makes you accountable and requires that work on accomplishing something everything day. It also helps to make all of the little steps you’ve created seem less overwhelming or more manageable.
- Keep in mind that you may need to readjust some of your deadlines, so it is important to be flexible. Don’t beat yourself up if some of your goals need to be readjusted.
-
4Don’t do it alone. There’s no way you can accomplish big goals all on your own. Bestseller authors don’t publish, print, and distribute millions of copies of their books on their own. To determine what kind of people you need to help you achieve your goals, you’ll need to do some soul searching to determine your own weaknesses. Are you unorganized? Are you easily distracted? Find someone to help you out who is a color-coding organizational guru. Ask a friend who has laser focus to help keep you focused on what you need to do.[6]
- Know when you'll need to use other people - like publishers or an agent, for example - to achieve your goals. Make sure you include contacting such people and whatever they need to do in your list of steps for achieving your goals.
-
5Work consistently. All of the thinking and planning in the world isn’t going to matter if you don’t eventually take action to make your big goal a reality. You need to work toward your goals every single day. It doesn’t matter how slow you work or how long it takes to see results. If you work consistently toward a goal, eventually you’re going to get there.[7]
- Creating a schedule for when in your day you work on each step toward your big goal can help you stay consistent. Set aside a certain amount of time each day – at the same time each day – to work. This prevents you from getting sidetracked by other things and guarantees that you stay consistent.
- Remember that taking action doesn’t necessarily mean accomplishing something really big every day. If you one of your steps for writing a best-selling book is getting an agent, don’t get down on yourself if all you contribute toward accomplishing that step in one day is researching potential agents. You have to take the first step to take the second and as long as you’re taking action, it doesn’t matter how big or small the action is.[8]
-
1Develop a support system. The most important part of accomplishing big goals is realizing that you need the help and support of people who care about you. Having a support system in place can help you stay motivated. Surrounding yourself with supportive people doesn’t mean surrounding yourself with people who will never critique your plans. You want people who will be honest with you and help you to improve your ideas.[9]
- For example, if you’re working on that speech for school, and you’re committed to doing something different with it, ask a friend to listen to what you have and be honest about how they think it’s going. It might be painful to hear that they think what you’re trying just doesn’t work, but it will ultimately make you better. And getting a new perspective helps you stay motivated.
- You can also ask your support system to help keep you accountable. Share your deadlines or smaller step goals with them and ask them to check in with you.
- Be careful of becoming overly reliant on others, too. If you spend too much time getting other people’s opinions and following their suggestions, you’ll get really good at helping them think big, but won’t do so well thinking big for yourself. Criticism can be helpful sometimes, but it is important not to base your worth on what other people think. Relying too much on other people’s opinions can be self-limiting.
-
2Celebrate small victories. It’s easy to feel like you’re not getting any closer to accomplishing your goals when you’re focused on the little, everyday things you need to do to get there. Celebrating small victories can help you feel like you are accomplishing something – because you are! – and keep up your motivation.[10]
- For example, if your goal is to have a best-selling book, you might celebrate the day you finish your research. Or the day you write a chapter. Or even when you get more than one page written in a sitting.
- You can celebrate in a lot of different ways, and they don’t have to be expensive. Reward yourself with a piece of chocolate when you check off one of your steps. Or enjoy having a night off and binge a new TV show on a Saturday night. It doesn’t really matter how you celebrate as long as you take a moment (or longer) to acknowledge that you’re making progress.
- Try placing a calendar on your wall and crossing off all of the goals you have accomplished, no matter how small.
-
3Don’t be afraid of failure. If you focus too much on all the ways you might fail, or might fall short of your initial goal, you’ll never have the motivation to get started. Everyone fails from time to time, and it’s okay.[11]
- Make a list of the ways that you might fail or fall short, and accept that they are distinct possibilities as you work to accomplish your big goals.
- If you do fail, remember that your failure doesn’t define you. Assess what led to your failure and start again.
- Keep in mind that success is not a straight line from point A to point B. There will be challenges and setbacks along the way. Learn about some of the challenges you may face and consider how you will handle them.
5. HOW TO THINK AND DREAM CREATIVELY
- you understand why you should dream, here are the 5 steps to doing it:1. Write It Down.Think about the 3 to 5 things you want to achieve this coming year. Then write it down. Writing is a powerful way to cause change in your life. If you write your dreams in the way we suggest, reading them will evoke a visceral response and get you emotionally connected and present.2. Write It in “The Now”This exercise is about getting you to focus on being the person who could fulfill this dream. Writing it in the present tense will have you feel it right now, making it easier to relate to and draw into your life. Use the present tense, saying “I feel energized,” instead of “I will feel energized.” Write it as if you are already experiencing this dream right now. The active, present tense engages your brain into action mode.“I am a working artist who gets paid for my writings, paintings, creative design, projects”“I am at my best shape this year! Slim, active and energetic”“I design alone time with each of my kids every week, just for hanging out and talking”3. Make It RealYour dream has to be believable, sincere and uniquely you. Avoid extremes like “I always” or “I never,” or “all the time” or “perfect” – all of which are unrealistic. Remove any clichés, because they distance you from the feeling of your dream by being “fluffy.” You must endeavor to contemplate and write what you actually mean.“I feel like a million bucks” vs. “I feel vibrantly healthy and alive”Then check for extremes and replace them with something truer, like these:“I have the PERFECT schedule” vs. “I adore making and sticking to my schedule.”“I NEVER yell “ vs. “Peaceful interactions are the norm in my life.”4. Take Out the NegativesMost people begin dreaming from a point of what they don’t want. We can’t help being tethered mentally to the past and the present circumstances! The act of writing down your dreams is a purely creative endeavor, so you must suspend disbelief for a little while so you can design a future based on your ideals, not on “what you expect” or “what you don’t want.”“I no longer hate looking in the mirror.” vs. “When I walk by the mirror, I think ‘WOW’ and feel full of pride.”“I stop picking jerks.” vs. “I have met and am in love with my soulmate.”5. Take Out the Hidden Jabs and SarcasmYour real, true, heartfelt dream has no room for jabs at others or yourself. Most people unintentionally weave them in, which end up zapping the power right out of their dreams. Read through your dream, and if you feel your good vibrations dip at a certain line, you may have snuck in sarcasm or a jab.“My mom and I can finally stop bickering.” vs. “We treasure our time together.”“I somehow get my finances together and pay down my debt.” vs. “I pay my bills on time and I have extra money leftover!”That’s it – now you know how to write a great dream! The next step is beating your excuses and taking the right actions. For that you’ll need accountability. It’s ideal to get coaching, but if you can’t afford a coach, get a buddy! It has to be someone who thinks the dream rocks and will hold you to account for what you say you’ll do about it. It’s best if you are each rooting for each other and you are willing to challenge each other.Designing a life of your dreams is one of THE BEST things you can do for your health, which is why I partner with Handel Group. Please leave a comment telling our community what you’re dreaming up for next year.Wishing you health & happiness,
6.YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK YOU ARE
“The mind is everything. What you think you become.”―Buddha
- Over the years, I had heard the statement “you are what you think you are” so I thought I would do a little experiment on myself. As a busy professional, I need to get up early to be prepared for my day. However, I wasn’t a morning person, which presented a problem. So I decided I would begin telling myself that I am, in fact, a morning person. And I would tell anyone that would listen “I am a morning person.” When my alarm clock would go off and the last thing I wanted to do was get out of bed, I would repeat this statement to myself. When I was trying to get organized in the morning and wanted nothing more than to crawl back into bed, I would say it to myself, and I would especially focus on saying it at night when I would find myself dreading the fact that I had to get up at the crack of dawn the next day.And you know what…it worked. I am now a morning person. I actually look forward to getting up early. It took a little while for it to happen (probably six months to a year) but the absolute truth is that I am now a very productive early riser. The latest I ever get out of bed is 6:00 a.m. (and yes this includes weekends). In fact, mornings have become my favorite part of the day. Some forty years ago Dr. Maxwell Maltz wrote a groundbreaking book called Psychocybernetics that explained this phenomenon. In this book, Maltz also coined the term “self-image” as a view we each have about ourselves, including our limitations and capabilities. Using his theory, we can assert that one can neither outperform nor underperform what you believe to be true. In the last decade, further developments in neuropsychology have concluded that we have the power to change our thoughts and change our lives.I’ve seen it proven to be true, both with myself and with my coaching clients. Whether you want to be a successful athlete, business professional, artist, a morning person, good with numbers—whatever—the real key is to begin telling yourself that you are what you hope to be. I challenge you to prove me (and Maltz) wrong.
7.MANAGE YOUR ENVIRONMENT:GO FIRST CLASS
- When Little People Try to Drive You Down, THINK BIG
When an Argument or Quarrel seems inevitable, THINK BIG
When you feel Defeated, THINK BIG
When Romance starts to Slip, THINK BIG
When You Feel Your Progress on the job is Slowing Down, THINK BIG- Success means many wonderful, positive things.
To be successful, believe that success is winning. Have the “I-am-going-to-the-top” and” how-to-it” approach. - Develop the power of Belief
Think success, don’t think failure.
Remind yourself that you are better than you think. Never sell yourself short.
Believe Big. The size of success is directly proportional to the size of your belief. Think about big goals and achieve success. - Self-Development and Growth Plan
You should always have three things in your mind:
What to Do?
How to Do?
Results!
- The right attitude and one arm will beat the wrong attitude and two arms every time.
- Knowledge is power when used constructively. Remind yourself daily that my attitude is much more important than my intelligence.
- Look at your present age positively and compute how much productive time is left with you.
- Accept the law of cause and effect. Don’t count on luck for success, instead concentrate on building qualities that will make you a winner gradually. Don’t be wishful thinker. This is one of the most important trait of successful people.
8.MAKE YOUR ATTITUDE YOUR ALLIES
- Success means many wonderful, positive things.
- make your attitudes your allies
Attitudes shine through your words and expressions
3 attitudes: I'm activated, ur important, service first
Must first be enthusiastic yourself
Dig into things deeper
Life up everything you do. Handshake. Smile. Talk.
Make little people feel like big people
Make big people feel bigger
Always use titles with others
Do something special for family and spouse
Do more than others expect - Grow the attitudes of:
- I am activated.
- I am important.
- Service first.
- To activate others, to get them to be enthusiastic, you must first be enthusiastic yourself.
- Use the dig-into-it-deeper technique to develop enthusiasm toward other people.
- Keep digging, and you’ll eventually discover a fascinating person.
- To get enthusiasm about anything – people, places, things – dig into it deeper.
- Ask yourself every day, “What can I do today to make my wife and family happy?”
- “Put service first” is an attitude that creates wealth. Put service first, and money takes care of itself.
9.THINK RIGHT TOWARDS PEOPLE
- Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition.”You may believe that only a narcissist would see life from his or her own perspective, so the argumentative individual must clearly have these egotistical and selfish traits. It’s just as likely, based on the Krajniak et al. study, that the individual is high on other personality disorder traits, but since the relationships weren’t perfect, the person might have no personality disorder at all.
- the role of emotional intelligence in interpersonal relationships is the first step toward dealing with people who lack it. With this recognition, you can see that you might need to be more overt (or more overt than you prefer) in letting the person know how you feel than you would with someone who’s higher on emotional sensitivity.
10.GET THE ACTION HABIT
Here are 7 proven ways you can move from deciding to doing:
1. Stop waiting until conditions are perfect. If you are waiting for everything to be perfect in order to get started you will be waiting forever. Things will never be perfect. There will always be something that is not right or could be better. There is no perfect time; there is only the present time. You must take action now and you can make adjustments as you move along. I know the perfect time to start was last year. The second best time is right now.2. Stop, get up, and do it.Turn yourself into a doer. A doer is someone who has an idea and moves forward with it immediately. Have you ever said to anyone, “It is a great day to go to the beach,” and then sat around and watched TV? Next time stop, get up, and go do it. Do you want to begin exercising or present a new idea at work? Do it today. When we pause and wait, we lose the will to move forward and allow doubt to creep into our minds.3. Stop over-thinking thingsWhen we over-think things, we start to get paralysis of analysis. We start to analyze things to the point that we cannot move forward. We obsess over how conditions aren’t perfect, question the amount of time we have to commit, or come up with a whole host of reasons not to move forward.4. Take continuous action.Once you get started, continue to take continuous action. Make sure that you keep your momentum going by doing something productive related to your idea every day. This can be as easy as scheduling time to spend 15 minutes completing a small task daily. Those small tasks will add up quickly, and help you build confidence by seeing achievement.5. Use your action to overcome fear. Most people detest public speaking. However, have you ever realized the worst part? It is usually waiting around to speak. Even the most experienced and poised speakers can get nervous during this time. However, once you get started that fear and anxiety disappear. Action can be a cure for fear. If you find yourself scared, become a doer and see how you overcome your fear and build confidence.6. Focus on the present. There is an old Chinese Proverb that says, “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” Yes, if we had planted those seeds 20 years ago we would have a full grown tree to provide us with shade right now. But if we don’t plant that tree now, 20 years in the future we will still be standing in the sun. Focus on what you can do in the present.7. Eliminate the distractions.Have you ever jumped on your computer to write an article only to start responding to emails, checking your social networking sites, and searching the internet? We live in a world of increasing noise. This noise can cause distractions that prevent us from being productive and give us an excuse to procrastinate. Focus in and drown out the distractions, and you will gain momentum from your production. The simple truth is that one average idea put into action is far more valuable than 20 genius ideas that are being saved for some other day or the right time. When you have an idea or make a decision, get into the habit of taking action. Jump off the log and discover all of the amazing things you can accomplish.- 11.HOW TO TURN DEFEAT INTO VICTORY

- Skill. You are born with one or more unique skills, and it is your job to discover what those skills are.Faith. Faith is belief, and belief is a choice. In Star Wars, when Yoda effortlessly frees the X-Wing from the bog, Luke Skywalker says, “I don’t believe it.” To which Yoda responds, “That is why you fail.” As much as I’d like to, I can’t improve on Yoda’s explanation of why faith is so crucial to success. Who am I to question a Jedi Master?Valor. Valor is courage. Because you have free will, you can choose to be courageous. In other words, valor is a state of mind. The bottom line is that the magical blend of skill, faith, and valor is always available to us. Unfortunately, we do not always utilize these powerful tools. But when we do, we indeed have the capacity to lift ourselves from certain defeat to incredible victory. We see this happening and read about it virtually every day of our lives. So if G.H.’s e-mail seems to describe your own situation to one extent or another, take heart. You can begin moving in the right direction today simply by utilizing three remarkable human traits – skill, faith, and valor –

We understand that self- Confidence is absolutely necessary to achieve success in endeavors, thus you can only acquire it by doing, learning and through persisting.
